Biography

Peter Knaup is an esteemed photographer renowned for his work on Antoni Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces. He first gained international recognition in 1973 for his captivating photographs of Gaudí’s work. In 1982, he moved to Paris, where he established one of the leading advertising photography studios. He is perhaps best known for his work on Christian Dior’s J’adore scent campaign in 2003.

Currently, Knaup lives and works in Berlin and Venice. His acclaimed publications include “Die châteaux des Médoc” [Médoc Châteaux] and “Die schönsten und besten bistros von Paris” [The Loveliest and Best Bars in Paris], in collaboration with German chef Wolfram Siebeck. In 2011, Braus published his photography book “Stilles Venedig” [Silent Venice]. More recently, he published a spectacular book featuring his photographs of Gaudí’s buildings taken over four decades, titled “Antoni Gaudí” (Braus, Berlin).
