Berthold Burkhardt is a professor emeritus and the former director of the Institute of Structural Engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig. He serves as the spokesman for the ICOMOS Monitoring Group in Germany and is a consultant and advisor to the Wüstenrot Foundation.
Throughout his distinguished career, Berthold Burkhardt has been actively involved in several prestigious organizations, including DOCOMOMO, the German Foundation of Scientific Research, the Koldewey Association, and the Alvar Aalto Association. His professional experience includes working with notable firms and architects such as Karl Kübler AG, L. Stromeyer & Co., Peter Poelzig, Frei Otto & Rolf Gutbrod, and Burkhardt & Schumacher. Additionally, he served as an assistant to Frei Otto at the University of Stuttgart.
Berthold has been involved in major projects such as the German Pavilion at the Montreal Universal Exposition and the stadiums for the Olympic Games in Munich.
