Chi-Jeng Kuo is a professor in the Department of Architecture at Tunghai University in Taiwan. He earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute of Building and Planning at National Taiwan University, specializing in urban history with a focus on the cultural and political-economic aspects of spaces. Kuo’s research on modern Shanghai, particularly during the colonial period, has been influential in understanding the complexities of urban development in Asian cities. He has published extensively on these topics and continues to contribute to the academic and professional discourse on urban planning and architectural history.
