Biography

Jaume Massó Carballido is an archaeologist, historian, and museologist who has resided in Reus for over fifty years. He holds a degree in prehistory and ancient history from the University of Barcelona and has taught at the Tarragona School of Archaeology Workshop.

Massó served as curator of the National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona for over eight years and is a civil servant with the Generalitat de Catalunya, specializing in Artistic Heritage – Museum Curators, currently on voluntary leave. He was vice-president of the Municipal Institute of Museums of Reus and director of the Salvador Vilaseca Archaeology Museum.

Massó is a corresponding academic of the Royal Academy of History and the Royal Academy of Letters of Barcelona. He has held various roles with the Board of Museums of Catalonia, the Cultural Heritage Committee of Tarragona, and the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology, and contributes to the Arqueoxarxa network and the Evaluation Committee for archaeological and paleontological subsidies.
