Biography

Xavier Nieto is a multifaceted architect and innovator with a diverse career spanning several decades. He earned his architecture degree in 1975 and pursued further studies in alternative energy sources in Miami in 1977. Nieto holds a Doctorate in Business with a focus on Innovation and Venture Capital. His early work includes significant contributions to solar energy and energy-saving projects from 1976 to 1980.

Nieto was actively involved with the Xavier Corberó Foundation from 1974 to 1991 and wrote articles on applied ecology for Integral Magazine between 1983 and 1984. He created monumental sculptures in Barcelona from 1982 to 1993 and contributed to the “Gaudi & His Contemporaries” exhibition at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York in 1988.

Since 2001, Nieto has been an advocate for utopian ideals through his blog “Utopía as Goal.” In 2012, he became a prominent heritage activist, working to preserve historic shops in Barcelona through the platform establimentsemblematics.cat. He also collaborates with Architect Studio Toni Poch, contributing to various creative and architectural projects.
